Way too busy! urgh!
Quick update! haha
I had my networking lab today
since i got life4hire confused NGIAHAHAHAAHAH, here’s a bit on what i did earlier
as he told me, it only have the monitor, keyboard and mouse :
and why using floppy disk?
because there’s no cpu haha
we only have this (see below) to insert the floppy disk in and then mount it
so at your computer (does it call that? meh!) you can control 4 testbed (i’m hoping that i get the names right xD)
it’s like.. it’s your small IP network where you can choose any of the testbed (machine) as your client and another one as your server
so.. what i did for my 3 hours lab was, connect to the server, at the client, i used the tcp client exe file (which only allows 1 connection at time)
then, tried with UDP exe file where multiple connection works fine (pretty fun actually since you can see what is being sent to the server at the server side haha -but not for tcp which i wonder why.. life4hire explain pls? is it because it might have to do with.. it’s programmed to echo? kot?)
and another part of my lab was to modify the server code so that it allows multiple connection at the same time (which is by using fork() -connect using tcp again and woala! it wont wait for the connection to be available but connect all haha)
confuse? haha i’m confuse myself 
it got me wonder, why, when i’m using the same machine, sending msges from 2 different connection (same IP) to the server, the server doesn’t get confuse and send reply to both haha
does that has anything to do with the doorway? port number? (wait.. port number ade kaitan ke? macam tak je…)
aaanyway, i’ll go search it up haha since it’s one of the lab question

p/s : i was in a really bad mood earlier (due to yesterday stress + today packed schedule). i was acting bitchy lol. i realize that. apologies to those whom i took my anger on. gomen =.=

then got another report due in jan..
pastu got tests in another 2 weeks time

to answer the lab question…you must know what fork function does and how tcp/ip works, particularly the 3 way handshake.
to simplify, client sends request to server. the connection will go through 3 way handshake and a connection established. the server doesn’t get confuse because of the connection established was assigned a port number.
common misconception, people tend to understand when we connect to a website, the connection will be on port 80 until the end. this is not true. the initial connection was on port 80, after that it will be transferred to another port. port 80 only used for the initial connection. for more reading, please read tcp windowhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transmission_Control_Protocol
udp is different from tcp. it will send all the datagram it wants and just wait if there’s any reply.it’s not connection oriented or connectionless.
